Announcing her decision on Instagram, Nida Dar posted, “After careful consideration, I have decided to take a temporary break from cricket to prioritize my mental health and well-being. Recent personal and professional challenges have taken a toll on my mental health, and I need to take some time to focus on myself.”
“I appreciate your understanding and respect for my privacy during this time. I am grateful for the support of my loved ones and look forward to returning to the cricket field when I am ready.”

Dar decided to take a break from cricket at a time when the women’s team is celebrating a big achievement. They won five matches in a row in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier and earned a spot in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025.
A 38-year-old Pakistani all-rounder has retired after playing 112 ODIs and 160 T20Is, becoming the country’s most capped T20I player and first to take 100 T20I wickets.
