MI vs LSG, IPL 2025: Mumbai Indians (MI) are playing against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in match 45 of IPL 2025 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday, April 28. This is the first game of the day’s doubleheader, and both teams have shared their playing XIs and ‘Impact Players’ for the match.
Both MI and LSG have 10 points each before this game. However, MI has the upper hand with four wins in a row. They’ll look to make it five and move into the top four of the points table. Meanwhile, LSG will try to bounce back after losing their last game to Delhi Capitals (DC).
LSG won the toss and decided to bowl first. They made one change—Mayank Yadav came in for Shardul Thakur. Mumbai made two changes: Karn Sharma was back in the team, and Corbin Bosch made his debut. Mitchell Santner was left out because of a minor finger injury.
Rishabh Pant said it feels easier to lead the team and take each day with a fresh mindset. He also confirmed one change in the playing XI.
“We are bowling first. In a day game you want to utilize the surface. We are in a good space and personally it’s easier to put the team ahead, makes it easier. Eventually you want to play good cricket and take every day as your first day. One change. Shardul is out and Mayank Yadav is in,” Pant said.
Hardik Pandya mentioned that his team is okay with batting first despite the heat and highlighted the importance of adapting without overthinking. He also stressed that every IPL game is important.
“We were planning to bowl, but looking at the heat – we don’t mind batting as well. It’s about adapting and not think too much about the heat. ESA game has always been very special, the initiative by Ambani has been very special and it gives us added motivation, let’s give them (the children) a good show. The momentum always helps, but in IPL every game matters and do the right things. 2 changes. Karn Sharma comes in for Mitch Santner. Corbin Bosch makes his debut as well, Puthur misses out,” Pandya said.
