George Munsey is a Scottish cricket player born on 21 February 1993. He bats left-handed and plays for Scotland’s national team. He has scored more than 2,500 international runs and made big scores like 191 in an ODI and 132 in a T20, which are his lifetime bests. Munsey also hit a 41-ball T20 century, one of the fastest ever. George Munsey started playing club cricket in Scotland for The Grange Club and Watsonians. He got his first central contract with Cricket Scotland in 2014. On 21 April 2019, he scored 147 runs off 39 balls for Gloucestershire 2nd XI, hitting six sixes in one over. 

He was picked by the Brampton Wolves for the 2019 Global T20 Canada. In 2020, he signed for Hampshire, and in 2021, he played for Kent. He is also set to play for Sylhet Strikers in the 2025 Bangladesh Premier League.

George Munsey first played for Scotland in a T20I match against Ireland on 18 June 2015 and then made his ODI debut against Hong Kong on 22 January 2017. He scored 127 not out off 41 balls in September 2019, the second-fastest T20I hundred ever, and set a big 200‑run opening stand with Kyle Coetzer for Scotland. 

In June 2025, he scored 191 runs vs the Netherlands, the highest ODI score by a Scottish player, and helped him pass 5,000 international runs in all formats. He also played in the 2021 and 2024 ICC T20 World Cups for Scotland.

George was born in Oxford, England, and grew up in Scotland. He went to Loretto School in East Lothian from 2006 to 2011 on a golf scholarship and moved to Edinburgh at age 13 to try to become a professional golfer. 

He became a scratch golfer by age 16 and played with Tyrrell Hatton in Oxfordshire. Late,r he chose cricket instead of golf and worked as a salesperson for Gray‑Nicolls sporting goods.
