The Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings match have only just begun. Captain of the MI squad Rohit Sharma set to miss out on the opening game. As a result, Kieron Pollard will be the captain of the game. Another change, Hardik Pandya is set to miss the season opener for the men in blue. Adam Milne makes his debut in the Indian Premier League and Jasprit Bumrah is featuring in his 100th IPL game for the Mumbai Indians.

Just as the game began, the first over rewards MI with 2 quick wickets. Trent Boult dismisses CSK’s opening batsman Faf Du Plessis before even opening his account. He goes for a duck off 3 balls. Just then Moeen Ali is dismissed off Adam Milne’s delivery. Even as Ruturaj Gaikwad is trying to settle in, Ambati Rayudu is hurt with the ball. Hence, he has retired hurt. Mumbai Indians pace attack is on fire. They have begun the tournament on a surprising note!

Suresh Raina isn’t able to settle in too as he goes for the big shots right in the beginning. The Chennai Super Kings so far haven’t had a settled start. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Mahendra Singh Dhoni will look to get the Chennai squad off to a decent start.

End of the powerplay, CSK is at 24-4 as the squad have lost captain cool MS Dhoni for 3 (5)
