Since May 2022, WWE superstar Randy Orton has been side-lined with a back issue. Find out when the current world champion will make his comeback.

Since May of this year, 14-time title holder Randy Orton has been absent from the WWE. Orton sustained a back problem at a moment when he was in the thick of a successful relationship with Matt Riddle, dubbed the ‘RK-Bro’. The tag team was defending their title as the Raw Tag Team champions at the time.

Randy Orton’s Injury

While rumours suggest that the organisation was concerned about back surgery, it is still unclear when Orton will return to the ring. However, following his injury, news reports indicated that the superstar will be out for the balance of 2022. Prior to being removed from television, Orton was reportedly scheduled to have work done on his back, according to Fightful Select. In the initial intentions of WWE, Orton might have faced off against Roman Reigns at SummerSlam 2022 for the undisputed WWE global championship. Brock Lesnar, who competed against the current champion at Summer Slam in a “Last Man Standing” match, eventually took the spot of the superstar.

Randy Orton’s WWE career

The 20th anniversary of Randy Orton’s debut with the promotion was commemorated by WWE earlier in August. “The Viper won his WWE debut match against Hardcore Holly on SmackDown on April 25, 2002. Twenty years, four Tag Team Titles, 14 World Championships, two triumphs in the Royal Rumble, and one Cash in the Bank contract later, Orton is still regarded as a legend in the sports entertainment business”, according to WWE.

Recent Report

The 42-year-old has ten times in his career won the WWE championship title; his most recent championship run was in 2020. He won the SmackDown tag team championships once with Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt as The Wyatt Family and two RAW tag team championships with Riddle as RK-Bro.

Since May, Randy Orton has not been on WWE television. It appears that a target date has been established, despite recent rumours suggesting he won’t be making any returns anytime soon.

The Apex Predator and Matt Riddle’s tag team championship unification match versus The Usos was their last appearance on television. RK-Bro lost their championship due to interference by Roman Reigns, and The Bloodline then savagely attacked them.

According to a recent PWInsider article, Orton has extended his vacation time to address a back problem. The Legend Killer and Big E are expected to make a surprise Royal Rumble appearance together, according to a second report from Xero News, assuming they don’t make a return sooner.

It should be noted that WWE has not yet provided any official updates on the whereabouts of Big E and Randy Orton. Fans are nonetheless anticipating the superstars’ eventual comeback with bated breath.

While WWE is on break, Matt Riddle provides an update on Randy Orton’s health.

RK – Despite the fact that the two celebrities were initially improbable mates, Bro has been one of the most fruitful collaborations. It appears that they are still monitoring one another despite The Viper’s disappearance.
