Bangladesh has suffered a major setback before the second Test match against South Africa. Team batsman Jekar Ali has been ruled out of the second match due to injury. Mahidul Islam Ankon has been included in the team in his place. It is being told that Jekar was injured during practice at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Sunday, 27 October.
Talking about his injury, Bangladesh physio Baijedul Islam Khan said, Jekar Ali was injured while batting in practice yesterday (Sunday). He already has a history of injury and is still showing symptoms. Given his previous injury record, it may take some time to recover. He has been ruled out of the second Test based on clinical findings.
Let us tell you that the 26-year-old player made his Test debut in the first Test of the series and scored a half-century with brilliant batting. Apart from the longest format of the game, Jaker Ali has played a total of 19 T20 matches for Bangladesh and has scored 254 runs so far. Jaker Ali’s exclusion may affect Bangladesh’s batting because the way he batted in the debut Test was commendable.

On the other hand, talking about the series, Bangladesh had to face a crushing defeat in the first Test match. In the match held at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, South Africa bundled out Bangladesh for just 106 runs in the first innings. In response, the African team scored 308 runs and took a huge lead.
Bangladesh batted well in the second innings and put 307 runs on the board. In this way, the visiting team got a target of 106 runs, which they achieved with seven wickets remaining and took a 1-0 lead in the series. Now the second Test match will be played on October 29 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong.
