The Bangladesh Premier Competition is a professional cricket league with seven franchises. It is recognised as one of Bangladesh’s three professional cricket leagues and is also called the 16th most-watched premier league match. Each team is said to compete against the other twice during the league, which usually takes place in November.
As per reports, the Destiny Group funded the premier leagues and served as the Bangladesh Premier League’s primary sponsor. They made a 75-million-taka ($1 million) bid. Following this, Prime Bank Limited became the principal sponsor and contributed approximately 100 million takas (about US $ 1.5 million) for the second season of the premier league. Then, in the next year (2015–16), BRB cables arrived with sponsorship totalling over 15 crores Takas (about $1.8 million).
Later on, Abul Khair Steel and Shah Cement, a subsidiary of Abul Khair Industries Limited, proposed the sponsorship of 22 crores (about US $2.6 million) for the 2016–17 academic year. In the following season, TVS Motors and United Commercial Bank were the sponsors. BBS Cables & Walton, and M. Ispahani Limited & Minister Group are said to sponsor the league in the 2022 and 2023 seasons respectively.
