Chairman Of BCB: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially named Habibul Bashar as the chairman of the newly formed four-member selection panel. The appointment was announced on Monday as part of the restructuring process.

The newly formed panel will hold their position until the selection of Bangladesh’s squad for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027, which is to be held in Africa in October and November 2027.
Chairman Of BCB: Experience and Legacy of Habibul Bashar
At the age of 53, Habibul Bashar brings a wealth of experience with him as he takes up his position as chairman of the selection panel of the BCB.
A renowned former skipper, Bashar was the first Bangladeshi cricketer to reach the milestone of 3,000 runs in Test cricket, thus establishing himself as one of the country’s most revered personalities.

Reason Behind the Restructuring
Following the expiration of his contract (February 2026), Gazi Ashraf Hossain has chosen not to renew his contract. In order to make the selection process more robust, the BCB increased the size of the selection panel to four members from three.
