Before the Billie Jean King Cup Finals, Danielle Collins might compete in the WTA Finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Currently, she is ranked eighth in the race to the WTA Finals with 3,178 points. This ranking follows a standout season that has led many to urge her to rethink her retirement.

Collins had a strong start to the year with a notable performance at the Qatar Open, reaching the quarterfinals. She then enjoyed a 15-match winning streak, beginning at the Miami Open and ending at the Madrid Open. During this streak, she secured her first WTA 1000 title in Miami and claimed her fourth tour-level title at the WTA 500 Charleston Open.

However, her winning streak ended in the fourth round of the Madrid Open. Since then, Collins has struggled with consistency, aside from a runner-up finish at the WTA 500 Strasbourg Open. She is currently facing a four-match losing streak.
