With the ‘winners tag’ achieved in 2010’s T20 World Cup, England is all set to showcase their potential with 15 stunning players by their side. However, players like Dawid Malan and Alex Hales are said to make a comeback, after Jason Roy and Johnny Bairstow were not able to play due to injuries. Moreover, Phil Salt was out of the tournament with Harry Brook taking over his position. The 15 cricketers comprise of:

Jos Buttler (Captain of the team), Moeen Ali, Harry Brook, Sam Curran, Chris Jordan, Liam Livingstone, Dawid Malan, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, Ben Stokes, Reece Topley, David Willey, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood, Alex Hales.

Team of Afghanistan

On the other hand, post back-to-back two victories against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh at the Asia Cup of 2022, Afghanistan has failed to keep up with their amazing performance at the recent matches. With the absence of players like Afsar Zazai, Karim Janat, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Noor Ahmad and Samiullah Shinwari, the spinner Qaid Ahmed, pace bowler Salim Safi and batsman Darwish Rooli have joined their 15-man squad. The squad features the following players:

Mohammad Nabi (Captain of the team), Najibullah Zadran, Hazratullah Zazai, Usman Ghani, Darwish Rasooli, Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Azmatullah Omarzai, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Naveen-ul-Haq, Rashid Khan, Fareed Ahmad Malik, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Qais Ahmad and Mohammad Saleem Safi.

Previous Records Between the Two Teams

As per reports, Afghanistan and England have faced off for two times at T20. And, the England team has been reported to register a victory defeating Afghanistan in both the matches.

Predictions Circulating All Around

As England being a winner of 2010’s T20 edition, is expected to have a proper knowledge about each and everything. With plenty of game changers by their side, the team is expected to set a tough competition for their competitors.

On the other hand, Afghanistan is yet to achieve an ICC T20 World Cup. Moreover, the team is considered to be comparatively weaker among others placed under Group 1. But with some experienced campaigners, Afghanistan is expected to rise and do well in the tournament.

With lots of excitement and assumptions, this match is likely to be an exciting watch.
