F1: Here is a look at the standings before Azerbaijan GP
Formula 1 returns to Azerbaijan for their fourth race of the season. Here is a look at the drivers’ standings before the Azerbaijan GP.
Formula 1’s drivers and teams gear up for yet another challenge in Azerbaijan. The Baku City Circuit will play host. Baku City Circuit is one of the fastest tracks in F1 since its first race in 2016. Here is a look at how the drivers are positioned before the Azerbaijan GP.
Race for top 3 drivers
Max Verstappen from Red Bull is at the top position he is followed by his teammate, Sergio Perez. In the third position in the F1 Standings is veteran Fernando Alonso from Aston Martin. The Seven-time Champion and arguably the best driver of his era, Lewis Hamilton is in the fourth position. While 28-year-old, Carlos Sainz from Ferrari is in the 5th position.
Two-time Champion, Max Verstappen with 2 wins in Bahrain GP and Australian GP and a second finish in the Saudi Arabian GP is at the top of the standing with 69 points. Verstappen’s teammate, Sergio Perez is in the second position with 54 points this season, with a win in the Saudi Arabian GP and a silver finish in Bahrain GP. Perez finished 5th in the Australian GP. Fernando Alonso has 3 out of three podium finishes this season. The two-time champion has finished at the third position in every race this season and has 45 points. British racer, Lewis Hamilton with 38 points got his first podium finish in the last race. In the Australian GP, he finished the race in the second position.
With 20 races left in the season, it is almost impossible to predict which drivers will finish on the podium at the end of the season. 2021 and 2022 champion, Verstappen with 69 points looks to be the safest bet to get at least a podium finish. Verstappen has got a sizeable lead from his arch-rival, Hamilton and he will look to widen the gap and go for a hattrick of F1 wins.
Lewis Hamilton might have found his groove in the last race and will look to carry the form further in the season to improve his standings.
