I love playing ICC tournaments: Shikhar Dhawan
Indian cricket team will play the first ODI against Zimbabwe on 18th August.
Indian cricket team opener Shikhar Dhawan has opened up about his wish. The opening batter said he wants to play ICC World Cup in 2023. His main focus is the World Cup and he is preparing for that only. Shikhar Dhawan has been in good form recently when he played against West Indies.
Shikhar Dhawan played the ODI series for India after a long time and he was not just on the field as a player but captained the side as well.
“I love playing in ICC tournaments. There is always a different feeling and satisfaction and I’ve had some very good tournaments in the past. I prepare and approach every tournament exactly the same way,” said Shikhar Dhawan to the Times Of India (TOI).
Shikhar Dhawan also became the only captain to whitewash West Indies in their home. Shikhar Dhawan was also named captain for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe, but later when KL Rahul was declared match fit, BCCI decided to make him captain instead of Shikhar.
Shikhar Dhawan fans weren’t happy with this decision from BCCI as they feel it is unfair to change the captain just ahead of the series.
