It cannot be disputed that the Indian Premier League has had a substantial impact on cricket. Since the IPL’s inception, it has given the world a number of superstars who have wowed audiences. It is currently listed as one of the top sports leagues in the world since it is widely regarded as the best cricket league in the world. Over the span of the league’s 15 seasons, we have seen many amazing performances by players and teams.

One of the reasons the IPL is the best is because it has some of the best players in the globe. However, each contending team seeks a potent combination of bowlers and hitters. If they have a powerful batting lineup, they can start the game strong. It depends on the batters, and by assisting your team in scoring as many runs as you can, you can put pressure on the opposition.

Here we will focus on situations in which a team surpasses its regular run total without losing any wickets:

  1. In IPL 2020, Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis (CSK) defeated Punjab Kings 181/0.

The 18th match of the IPL 2020 season between Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab took place in Dubai (now Punjab Kings). Punjab, having won the toss, decided to bat first. They got off to a wonderful start thanks to captain KL Rahul’s half-century. With the help of a few more batsmen, Punjab managed to reach 178/4 in their 20 overs.

It was a good target, but what came next was a complete domination. Both CSK players attacked the bowlers and scored runs at will in the first few innings. In 17.4 overs, Shane Watson and Faf Du Plessis combined for 181 runs to successfully chase down the target. CSK won the match without losing any wickets. Watson scored 83 runs, compared to Du Plessis’ 87 runs. Both openers were faultless to seal the victory for their respective teams.

  1. In IPL 2017, Chris Lynn and Gautam Gambhir (KKR) defeated Gujarat Lions with a score of 184/0.

The second-highest score was scored in an IPL match between Gujarat Lions and Kolkata Knight Riders in 2017. In the third match of the season at Rajkot, KKR won the toss and elected to bowl first. Gujarat accelerated in the middle, but gradually. While captain Suresh Raina smashed an unbeaten 68* from 51 balls, Dinesh Karthik hit 47 runs off 25 balls. As a result, Gujarat Lions scored 183/4 in their allotted 20 overs.

The total seemed to be one that would be impossible to defend, thus it appeared that KKR would face a difficult struggle. However, the KKR openers had something else in mind. Chris Lynn set off the chase, which went on until the victor was found. Lynn and Gautam Gambhir blasted bowlers to every part of the ground in order to score all the runs without losing any wickets. In just 14.5 overs, KKR scored 184 runs to successfully chase down the target. Lynn scored 93 off just 41 balls with the help of six fours and eight sixes. Gambhir was still in the game at 76* off 48 balls.

  1. In 2022, Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul (LSG) defeated the Kolkata Knight Riders 210/0.

The highest opening wicket partnership occurred in the 2022 season. The 66th match of the league was played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants. The end of this was thrilling. LSG won the toss and decided to bat first. The two openers, KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock, both played slowly before stepping up the pace. The second fiddle was Captain Rahul. In contrast, De Kock was at the peak of his game.

With his 140*68 runs off just 70 balls, which included 10 fours and 10 sixes, the left-hander broke the previous IPL record for the highest score by a wicketkeeper. Rahul also managed to hang on for 68* from 51 balls. LSG scored 210 runs in their 20 overs. KKR, though, also played outstanding batting to reach the objective in response. They actually had the match in hand at one stage thanks to some potent death bowling, stopping KKR from winning.
