Pak vs WI: Series levelled 1-1 as Shaheen Afridi shines on Day 2

Shaheen Afridi makes it easier for Pakistan to register a much needed win against West Indies in Sabina Park, Jamaica. Pakistan have levelled the two-match series.

And as they crush West Indies in the match for 219 on day 5 of test 2, Pakistan has claimed the 12th spot in the World Test Championship points!

On Day 5 of the second test, West Indies failed to bring momentum to their innings. Early wickets and a troubled opening partnership of captain Kraigg Brathwaite kept Pakistan alive in the game.

Pakistan as a team were exceptionally good with the ball, and got their timely breakthroughs. 

Although they had multiple occasions  of  dropped catches, there wasn’t lots of damage done and there was lots of time to change things around.

Later that day, Babar Azam lauds the effort of Nauman for taking crucial wickets on the final day. He also talks about how winning the game was very crucial for the team after the last defeat.

He further added that, “We knew that the ball would turn on the last day and it worked out well.” 

Talking about the Declaration: The plan was to take it to 330-340 and give them whatever number of overs were left after that on day 4. We needed to win the series so we had to take a bold decision. 

With that, Pakistan won this match by 109 runs against West Indies and were able to level the two match series.
