In a major breakthrough before the start of the Indian Premier League 2026, the RCB Sale has now been finalized, with the Aditya Birla Group leading a four-member consortium to buy out the Royal Challengers Bengaluru franchise.

This comes just before the start of the IPL for the defending champions on March 28. This is a major change for one of the most popular franchises in the IPL, which recently won their long-awaited title.

RCB’s Historic IPL 2025 Triumph

In 2025 IPL, RCB had previously lost every title since 2007 until winning this season for 1st time in history. Under Captain Rajat Patidar, RCB felt like it had everything going for them this past season. Patidar established himself as one of the best captains to ever play in this league during his first season at captain and RCB hopes to continue that success into future 2026 seasons.

As defending champions going into the IPL 2026, RCB will begin with a game against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
