Suryakumar Yadav’s flop performance in the second ODI against Australia on Sunday triggered a Twitter trend for Sanju Samson. Suryakumar has been given the opportunity to play at No.4 in the Indian playing XIs due to the absence of Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant.
While Iyer is out with a back injury, Pant will be missed this season after a horrific car accident last December. He is currently on the mend. Suryakumar was dismissed in the same manner in both of the first two One-Day Internationals against Australia.
He was caught leg-before off Mitchell Starc’s in-swinging deliveries on the first balls he faced, extending his barren run in the format. Suryakumar’s highest ODI score was an unbeaten 34 against New Zealand on Sunday, his 16th ODI without a fifty.

They had some agenda against deserving #SanjuSamson, didn't include him to squad even when Iyer was injured apart frm Rohit's unavailability for 1st ODI.
Now they will have to play SKY again (golden duck x 2)..
Just mentioning Sanju Samson's ODI avg is 66 & S/R is 105.. pic.twitter.com/Kzcgnnsix5— Amal Sudhakaran (@amal_sachinism) March 19, 2023
