The wait for the 2026 T20 World Cup has officially started, and tickets for Phase 1 are set to go live on December 11 at 18:45 IST and Sri Lankan time (13:15 GMT). Organised by India and Sri Lanka, this event will take place from February 7. Such occasions are a major step for those who are waiting for cricket to take centre stage on a worldwide platform.

Speaking on this, the ICC CEO, Sanjog Gupta, introduced that “our vision for this 2026 T20 World Cup would be to make it the most globally accessible ICC event in our history.” To this extent, Gupta brought to attention that “affordability and inclusivity are, of course, key tenets of our ticket offering this year.”

“Phase 1, in fact, is a critical milestone in preparation for the event,” said Sanjog Gupta.
“Our goal is to make sure that anyone, no matter where they are in terms of finances, can experience world-class cricket in a sports arena,” he said.
The ICC also aims to provide a setting where millions of fans can experience the passion, energy, and buzz that would emanate from a 2026 T20 World Cup stadium.
Tournament Format and Timing of Matches
The 2026 T20 World Cup will comprise:

Timings: 11:00 AM (05:30 GMT), 3:00 PM (09:30 GMT), and 7:00 PM IST
The format remains unchanged from that of version 2024, in which a pool of 20 teams has been divided into groups of five for round one.
