Highest Individual Score in a Youth ODI Final
A record individual score of 172 by Sameer Minhas in the final of an Under-19 match. He broke Quinton de Kock’s 146, which was achieved against Pakistan during the 2012 tri-series tournament final.
This is also the highest individual score by any Pakistani batsman in the youth ODIs, surpassing Shahzaib Khan’s 159 against India in the 2024 U-19 Asia Cup. Moreover, 172 is also the highest individual score that India has been forced to chase in youth ODIs till date.

It was also Pakistan’s fourth-highest total in youth ODIs and the highest total India have conceded in youth ODI history.
Record-Breaking Defeat
“The final match, as far as India was concerned, proved to be unforgettable, but this time
- 191-run loss – India’s biggest defeat ever in Youth ODIs by runs.
- Their previous biggest difference was a 112-run loss to South Africa at the U-19 World Cup in 2002.
- This is only the second occasion on which India have conceded more than 100 runs in the Youth ODIs.
- In international youth ODI finals, the third-largest margin of defeat for India is by 191 runs.
- India were bowled out for 156 in only 26.2 overs, which is second fewest overs they have ever faced while batting, in youth ODIs.
The only shorter outing came when India U-19s were bowled out for 71 in 18.5 overs against Pakistan in the final of the 2006 U-19 World Cup.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Six-Hitting Feat
Although it was a defeat, Vaibhav Suryavanshi of India made headlines for 20 sixes in the U-19 Asia Cup, most in all multi-national U-19 ODIs. In the last tournament, he scored three sixes, breaking Dewald Brevis’ record of 18 sixes set during the 2022 U-19 World Cup.
