WWE: Interesting Backstage Stories About the Ultimate Warrior We Can’t Believe
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, The Ultimate Warrior was one of WWE’s most endearing superstars. He also sparked some debate behind the scenes.

Throughout the 1980s and into the 1990s, The Ultimate Warrior was one of the WWE’s most endearing wrestlers. Warrior ran to the ring and rattled the ropes prior to a big bout, getting the crowd on its feet with his vibrant face paint and tassels. Warrior was a popular favorite, but he also created a lot of drama behind the scenes. Over the years, a number of unfavorable reports about him have surfaced. The stories of Warrior are difficult to believe, just like other stories. So, let’s look at some of The Ultimate Warrior’s behind-the-scenes tales.
Linda McMahon’s Companions
Everyone was curious as to who would induct the Ultimate Warrior when it was revealed that he would be a part of the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame. Fans were shocked when he decided to commemorate Linda McMahon. Linda and Warrior were close friends, as we would later discover from her speech. Linda stuck by Warrior despite the fact that he had a reputation for being difficult and alienating the majority of the locker room. Warrior praised Linda in a tweet before his induction, saying that she had integrity and was the only person who truly knew him.
Losing Sting’s Favor
Warrior and Sting were friends back in the 1980s when they were just beginning their careers in professional wrestling. The two men competed in matches as The Blade Runners in 1985. Just a few months after their debut, the two decided to part up in order to concentrate on their individual careers while they were still making waves in Mid-South Wrestling. The two went on to have prosperous wrestling careers, but their friendship was never restored. According to Sting, Warrior was high-strung and neurotic, and this is what finally caused their relationship to break down.
Another Person Played the Warrior
There have been many urban tales about wrestling over the years, and one of them involves Warrior. At WrestleMania 8 in 1992, Warrior made his WWE comeback after a hiatus of more than eight months. Fans saw that Warrior had lost weight and had changed his hairdo, among other physical changes. His altered appearance sparked speculation that the actual Ultimate Warrior had passed away and had been replaced by another wrestler. This myth has been disproven. Sadly, the Ultimate Warrior passed away from a heart attack in 2014, just a few days after being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Conceived of the Squash Match with Triple H
Warrior left WWE in 1992, but he would return to the organization four years later. At WrestleMania 12, he won his first bout after making a comeback by defeating Triple H. The fight lasted less than two minutes, and Warrior emerged the winner that evening. The match was meant to last longer, but Warrior reportedly refused to submit Triple H, leading to the conclusion of the squash match. Fans think that Triple H deserved more in his WrestleMania debut and that the match is one of his worst.
Eric Bischoff Foresaw a Bad End to the WCW Run
Ultimate Warrior jumped ship to the rival, just like numerous other former WWE stars. The celebrity joined WCW in 1998. His plot involved a conflict with Hulk Hogan, a former foe who was now a member of the nWo heel stable. Eric Bischoff welcomed Warrior to WCW with enthusiasm, but he knew from the start that things would still not work out. Warrior was meant to make a brief introduction when he made his debut, but he ended up rambling on for more than 20 minutes. At that very moment, Bischoff realized that Warrior’s WCW run would be a failure.
Was Scheduled to Run for Another Championship
When Warrior beat Hulk Hogan to win the WWF World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 6, he created history. Prior to relinquishing the championship to Sgt. Slaughter at the 1991 Royal Rumble, he held it for nine months. Warrior took a sabbatical from the organization in late 1991 and early 1992, but he returned in time for WrestleMania 8. Warrior had high intentions for his return, including another attempt to win the WWF Championship. Unfortunately, winning another championship wasn’t in the cards. Warrior was released six months after his return because a drug test had come back negative.
Dispute Overpay with Vince
Between Warrior and his supervisor Vince McMahon, there was a lot of conflict in the past. One of their first disagreements was over compensation in 1991. Warrior issued a letter with a demand list, which included a pay raise. He threatened to stay at home if Vince didn’t comply with his requests. Eventually, Vince gave in, although they continued to argue frequently over the years. Despite the growing hostility, Warrior and Vince reconciled, and in 2014 it was announced that he would be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
