People working for WWE have been more ready to speak with reporters about the former WWE CEO and Chairman since Vince McMahon quit last Friday.
McMahon’s new report from Fightful Select offers a clearer picture of the creative scene with him in command.
Many persons participating in the creative process informed them that many of McMahon’s aides had to “filter” McMahon in certain ways since the assistants usually had to know what not to say for McMahon while collecting notes from him. The “time has been significantly edited,” it was confirmed.
For a long time, this was considered to be mostly true. It varied from Vince saying inappropriate or rude things to “oh god, what did he just have said?” moments and basic kayfabe.
“Several of the incidences involved McMahon often giving people the wrong names, or using language that was not even appropriate, so even he himself would have never let on television,” according to the report.
When asked what they expect it to change from when McMahon was in control to now that Triple H is the Head of Creative, one person specifically stated, “Recalling what we have and have not done on a regular basis. Vince insisted on doing so many things that I’m very sure he didn’t recall doing over and over again, also when people told him.”
McMahon resigned as Chairman and CEO last week amid allegations of hush money and sexual misconduct against him. Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan have been appointed as co-CEOs.
As previously reported, the SEC and federal prosecutors have initiated investigations into the hush money payments. The WWE Board of Directors is also looking into the incident.
