Zim v Ind: VVS Laxman to lead coaching staff in ODI series

Indian cricket team will play three ODIs against Zimbabwe ahead of Asia Cup.

Indian cricket team will be playing three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe in their home. Most of the Indian first team players are not in the squad for this series against Zimbabwe as they will be training for the upcoming Asia Cup. Asia Cup 2022 will be starting from August 27th, just after the series between India and Zimbabwe.

For this series, BCCI have decided to send VVS Laxman with the team to lead the coaching staff rather than Rahul Dravid who is a full-time head coach of Indian cricket team. Rahul Dravid will stay with the first team to make them prepare for the Asia Cup. VVS Laxman also have done coaching of Indian team when India played a two-match T20Is against Ireland recently.

Former Indian batter VVS Laxman has also worked as a mentor of an IPL franchise named Sunrisers Hyderabad. He has done an appreciable job there.
