The first week of 2026 has already brought big changes in WWE. On the first episode of WWE SmackDown, Giulia regained the Women’s United States Championship, while WWE RAW also saw new champions crowned.

But January is far from over. With Saturday Night’s Main Event XLIII and the Royal Rumble still to come, more title switches could easily happen before the month ends.

Here are four more championship changes that fans might see in January 2026.

4. The MFTs could capture the WWE Tag Team Championship

The rivalry between Solo Sikoa’s group and the Wyatt Sicks has been running since November, but it feels stuck. Even though the Sicks currently hold the tag titles on SmackDown, their reign has not felt important or dominant.

WWE could freshen things up by moving the titles back to the MFTs. A title change would instantly give the story new life and make the tag division feel more active heading into the Royal Rumble season.

3. Raquel Rodriguez could win the Women’s World Championship

Stephanie Vaquer recently revealed she is dealing with an ankle injury. While she has promised to keep defending the title, Raquel Rodriguez’s attack on her both in the ring and backstage sent a clear message.

Rodriguez has been built strongly over the past few weeks. If Vaquer’s injury worsens or WWE wants a power shift, January could be the perfect time to put the Women’s World Championship on Raquel and establish her as a top force.

2. Je’Von Evans could become Intercontinental Champion

Je’Von Evans made his RAW debut on January 5 and immediately looked comfortable on the main roster. After a strong NXT run without winning gold, his next step could be a major title opportunity.

With Dominik Mysterio sidelined due to injury, WWE could use this moment to elevate Evans. A title win at the Royal Rumble would give him instant credibility and allow Dominik time to recover without hurting the division.

1. Drew McIntyre could finally win the WWE Championship

All eyes are on January 9, when Drew McIntyre challenges Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship in a brutal Three Stages of Hell Match on SmackDown in Berlin.

Many fans believe this is a must-win situation for McIntyre. After months of mind games and losses, another defeat would seriously hurt his main event status. A championship win would restore his momentum and close this rivalry in a powerful way.
