On Wednesday, the ACC announced the launch of the Women’s Under-19 T20 Asia Cup during its executive board meeting in Kuala Lumpur. The decision was taken at an ACC Executive Board meeting presided by President Jay Shah, who will take over as ICC chairman from December 1.

According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, the ACC is planning to host the inaugural edition of the tournament in mid-December 2024. This would essentially mean that the Under-19 World Cup tournament will be a build-up to the global ICC T20 World Cup tournament, which is slated to take place between January and February 2025, in Malaysia.
