AUS vs IND: India won the first test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy and waved the tricolor in Perth. Now a day-night test with pink ball awaits them in Adelaide on Friday. The fight is tough and the Indian team has been toiling hard, but something went wrong with them during the practice session on Wednesday.
Fans will no longer be allowed in India’s practice sessions in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series against Australia. In fact, the players were troubled by the ‘abusive’ comments of some spectators during the team’s practice ahead of the second Test starting on Friday. The practice session was opened to fans on Tuesday.
Although only a few spectators had turned up to witness Australia’s practice session, thousands of people had gathered to watch the Indian team. The practice facilities in Adelaide are very close to the spectators’ gallery.
Complete chaos made in the practice session of AUS vs IND Test
An official of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) told PTI on the condition of anonymity, “It was complete chaos. No more than 70 people came during the Australian training session, but about 3000 people were present during India’s session. No one expected so many fans to come. “He said, “There was another Fans Day in Sydney (before the fifth Test), which has been canceled, as the players were very hurt by the rude and insensitive comments made here.”
Ugly comments on fitness
An eyewitness said that fans provoked players like Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant to hit sixes. Some fans made indecent comments on the fitness of the team player. He said, “Virat (Kohli) and Shubman Gill could be surrounded because of so many people. Some people were doing Facebook Live with their friends and were talking loudly while the batsman was playing.”
Insistence on saying Hi in Gujarati
The source in the conversation said, ‘A fan was constantly urging a player to say ‘Hi (greeting)’ in Gujarati. Another was making indecent comments about the body of another player.’ It is to be mentioned here that the remaining matches of the series will take place in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney. India’s Australia tour will come to an end on January 7.
