Due to another disappointing performance in batting in the first innings, the Indian team came under pressure on the second day, after which New Zealand has scored 198 runs for the loss of 5 wickets by the end of the day’s play. On the basis of the first innings, its lead has increased to 301 runs.

Glenn Phillips is unbeaten on 9 and Tom Blundell on 30. If the Indian team has to win this match, then not only will it have to get New Zealand out as quickly as possible on the third day. A target of more than 300 is a difficult task for any team in the fourth inning.

In the Indian innings, New Zealand spinner Mitchell Santner gave the best performance of his career by taking seven wickets for 53 runs, due to which the Indian team was all out for 156 runs in the first innings at the MCA Stadium. So far in New Zealand’s innings, Washington Sundar (4 wickets for 56 runs) and Ravichandran Ashwin (1 wicket for 64 runs) have got wickets, but their grip has now become loose. Ravindra Jadeja has given 50 runs, while Jasprit Bumrah conceded 25 runs. Both of them have not got a wicket.

Tom Latham gave the most pain to the Indian bowlers

For New Zealand, opener Tom Latham was out after scoring 86 runs, while hitting 10 fours in 133 balls. Apart from him, it is wicketkeeper Tom Blundell who gave pain to the Indian bowlers, but when you have a lead of 103 runs in the first innings, then every run is too heavy. For him, Devon Conway 17, Will Young 23, Rachin Ravindra 9, and Daryl Mitchell were dismissed after scoring 18 runs.

Indian team will have to do wonders on the third day

The Indian team will have to bowl miraculously against New Zealand in the first session in IND vs NZ of the third day itself. Only Sundar and Ashwin have got wickets in this entire match so far, while Bumrah, Jadeja, and Akash Deep have to open the wicket account as bowlers. If they are able to bowl well, it will be good news for India.

IND vs NZ, NZ close to a first series win in India in 68 years

It is worth mentioning that New Zealand is trying to win a historic first Test series in India for the first time in 68 years. None of the New Zealand batsmen seemed to have any problem batting on the pitch, whereas before this the star-studded batting line-up collapsed for the second time in this series. In the last Test, the Indian team was bowled out for 46 runs on home soil in Bengaluru and had to face defeat from New Zealand on its own ground in 36 years.
