The Karachi Kings is a professional Twenty20 cricket team based in Pakistan that plays in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Karachi Kings is a professional cricket team based in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, which was founded in 2015 when the Pakistan Cricket Board established the Pakistan Super League (PCB). The National Stadium is the team’s home field. The Karachi Kings are one of the teams in Pakistan’s version of the IPL, the Pakistan Super League. Karachi, Sindh’s largest and capital city, serves as the base of operations for the gang. The lion on the symbol is meant to reflect the uncompromising nature of Karachi, while the words “Karachi Kings” are printed in white and gold below it.

Home games for the Karachi Kings are played at the National Stadium, the city’s fifth and Pakistan’s eleventh first-class ground. On April 21-24, 1955, Pakistan and India met at NSK in what would become a landmark event in Pakistan cricket history as the first-ever first-class match.

Founded in 2015 by Salman Iqbal, this HBL PSL franchise is owned by HBL. Regarding the Pakistan Super League, the Karachi Kings have never missed a season without making the playoffs. Karachi Kings made it to the PSL 2020 (the league’s fifth season) finals, and they ultimately prevailed. Karachi Kings lost a playoff game in the inaugural season of the HBL PSL, finishing in fourth place.

AJ Sports, a sports equipment manufacturer, manufacture the team’s uniforms. For the first three seasons, the team’s title sponsors were Bahria Town, the largest real estate developers and investors in Pakistan and the largest private housing society in Asia. Other sponsors included Bahria Town, Summit Bank, The Arkadians, Oye Hoye, Pepsi, Brighto Paints, and Shield Corporation Ltd. For the 2017 season, their official leading principal partner was Naya Nazimabad. Platinum sponsor Bridge Power in December 2016, Cotton & Cotton reached a deal to become their official apparel partner. Their tea sponsor was Vital Tea, their print media sponsor was the Pakistan Observer, and their memorabilia sponsor was Titans.

Achievements:

  • In 2015, the Karachi Kings were sold to ARY media company for 26 million USD over ten years, making them the most expensive team in the tournament until 2017, when the Multan Sultans were sold to the same buyer for 4.16 million USD over ten years.
  • After three matches, Shahid Afridi has remained unblemished as a player and president. The seasoned player took three wickets, which was a major factor in their third win. By the end of the third season, Karachi Kings had beaten out half of their rivals. They ended up third out of six teams.
  • In the first season of the PSL, Ravi Bopara won the player of the tournament award.
