1. Tim David
Tim David, a powerful finisher, is back with RCB after a gap of several seasons. He first debuted for RCB in 2021 but played only one match. After moving to MI in 2022, David showcased his skills with 186 runs at a brilliant strike rate of 216.27. Over the next two seasons, he added 472 runs across 26 innings, maintaining a solid strike rate.
However, MI decided to release him after his performances fell slightly short of expectations. At the auction, RCB secured him for ₹3 crore. Playing in the high-scoring M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, David might turn into a key player for RCB this season.
2. Nuwan Thushara
Sri Lankan pacer Nuwan Thushara, known for his slingy bowling style, joins RCB after a stint with MI. In IPL 2024, he took eight wickets in seven games with best figures of 3/28 but struggled with consistency, ending with an economy rate of 9.88.
RCB acquired Thushara for ₹1.60 crore, hoping his skills with the new ball and variations at the death can make an impact. While his international performances have been impressive recently, his form in shorter tournaments like the Abu Dhabi T10 League has been average. RCB will bank on him to step up.
3. Romario Shepherd
Caribbean all-rounder Romario Shepherd is another exciting addition to the RCB squad. After debuting with Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2022, Shepherd played for Lucknow Super Giants in 2023 and MI in 2024. His standout moment came against Delhi Capitals, where he smashed 39* off 10 balls, including an explosive over against Anrich Nortje.
Despite such flashes of brilliance, MI chose not to retain him. RCB picked him up for ₹1.50 crore, aiming to utilize his all-round abilities. Shepherd’s hitting power and knack for breakthroughs make him a valuable asset for RCB this season.
