Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana finally announced the cancellation of her wedding, publicly confirming it after weeks of speculation about her personal life.
Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal were scheduled to get married on November 23, but the ceremony was first postponed following her father’s hospitalisation.
Mandhana expressed on Instagram the requirement to address ongoing rumors, citing that she is “a very private person” yet felt compelled to clarify the situation:

“Over the past few weeks there has been plenty of speculation around my life and I feel it is important for me to speak out at this time,” she wrote in her post. “I am a very private person and I would like to keep it that way but I need to clarify that the wedding is called off.

She will then participate in the five-match T20I series between India and Sri Lanka which will be played at home in India between December 21 and 30, 2023. After that international series she will again be captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Women’s Premier League 2026 which will start on January 9, 2024. RCB will begin their campaign facing Mumbai Indians in Navi Mumbai.
