Australia comfortably beat West Indies by 8 wickets
1st Innings – West Indies puts 157 Runs on the board
West Indies lost three early wickets of Chris Gayle, Nicholas Pooran and Roston Chase and they were 35/3 (3.3 overs). After the powerplay, West Indies was at 50/3.
Then another 2 wickets fall of Evin Lewis and Shimron Hetmyer. With that, West Indies were 91/5 in 12.5 overs.
In the end, two more wickets fell of Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard – who played a captain knock’s of 44 (off 31 balls), they were 143/7 (19.2 overs). However, a quick knock by Andre Russell 18* (off 7 balls) made sure West Indies innings finished at 157/7 (20 overs).
2nd Innings – Australia’s Target is 158 Runs
For the Aussies, an early wicket fell in form of captain Aaron Finch as he was bowled out by Akeal Hosein. Australia was at 33/1 in 3.3 overs.
However, from there, it was a comfortable chase for the Australians, as David Warner and Mitchell Marsh had a 124 run partnership. Marsh got out on 53 (off 32 balls) with Chris Gayle picking his wicket.
In the end, David Warner remained unbeaten on 89* (off 56 balls) and guided Australia to a victory. They finished their innings at 161/2 (16.2 overs).
