In T20 cricket, dot balls are the same as gold dust. They help in increasing the batsmen’s scoreboard pressure, which eventually results in a wicket.
We have seen many such bowlers over the course of the past 15 seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL), who have mastered the art of increasing the scoreboard pressure on the batsman by consistently bowling dot balls.

Veteran India and SunRisers Hyderabad swing bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has had the most success in this area.
In his 146 IPL matches, the right-arm swing bowler has sent down 542 overs and thrown out 1406 dot balls.

Spinners take up three of the top five spots, with Sunil Narine (1391 runs in 576 overs), R Ashwin (1387 runs in 649 overs), and Harbhajan Singh (1268 runs in 569 overs), respectively.

Former Sri Lankan and Mumbai Indians pacer Lasith Malinga completes the top-five list.

In his 122-match career, Malinga, who also happens to be the IPL’s all-time leading wicket-taker, delivered 1155 dot deliveries.
Veteran spinners Amit Mishra (1154 in 540 overs) and Piyush Chawla (1151 in 545 overs) are in sixth and seventh place, respectively, and are followed at positions 8, 9, and 10 by three Indian pacers: Jasprit Bumrah (1120 in 455 overs), Umesh Yadav (1105 in 468 overs) and Praveen Kumar (1076 in 420 overs).
