Virender Sehwag commented on Virat Kohli’s captaincy in the first T20I match against England

Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag seems not happy with the team selection of Virat Kohli. After team India’s defeat in the first T20I, Sehwag said that in white-ball format Rohit Sharma has to be in the squad. During the toss, Virat said that “Rohit has been rested for a couple of T20I games.”

Sehwag said ”If there has been rest for Rohit Sharma then it should be in the last few matches. For the first T20I against the world’s best team in the white-ball format you have to play with your best available team. People come to watch players like Rohit Sharma on the field, if there is no Rohit Sharma in playing 11 then people eventually turn their tv off”.

He also slams Virat by saying ”Why not Virat drop himself from the squad, If he had to give 1 or 2 chances to Shikhar Dhawan, then he should drop himself. Rohit had a fantastic Test series against England, so keeping him out of the game is an awful decision.”
