Japrit Bumrah gets nominated for ICC ‘Player of the Month’ for his valuable contribution with the bat and ball in the ongoing test
Jasprit Bumrah is now getting nominated for the ICC ‘Player of the Month’ award for August. This news came in on Monday after the terrific performance at the Oval. In the fourth test match against England, Jasprit Bumrah has done it both with the bat and ball.
Twitter, loads of fans, and his teammates congratulate Jasprit Bumrah for also becoming the fastest Indian player to get 100 test wickets on Monday.
He also received applause for his 89- run partnership with Mohammed Shami.
Besides Bumrah, the others in the men’s category included England Test skipper Joe Root and Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi, the ICC announced.
Jasprit Bumrah ruled day 5 of the India vs England test. In the second session, he dismissed Ollie Pope and Jonny Bairstow in quick succession to give India two vital breakthroughs.
India went on to win the fourth test against England by 157 runs. Team India has taken the lead 2-1 in the test. Now the last test match will be held from 10th September. The players will soon travel to Manchester. The match will be held at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground.
It is to be noted that Ravi Shastri and the support staff that tested positive for COVID-19 will not be traveling with the team.
