Players Ruled Out Of IPL 2026: The IPL 2026 has been filled with both great big scoring games over 200 and some awesome low scoring defensive type of games. We’ve seen new stars emerge, and the competition has been fierce. Unfortunately, injuries have caused many teams to lose of their top players in these tournaments.

Overview: Injuries Disrupt IPL 2026 Campaigns

The franchises of Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals began with success; however, teams have been affected by injuries to players on their rosters resulting in players needing to be replaced.

Although some of these players may return from injury during the course of IPL 2021, per the published list below none of these players are eligible to participate in IPL 2021 for the remainder of the season.

Complete List of Players Ruled Out of IPL 2026

Khaleel Ahmed (Chennai Super Kings)

Khaleel Ahmed suffered from a quadricep muscle injury while playing for the Chennai Super Kings in a cricket match on April 14, 2023 when they played against the Kolkata Knight Riders.

He had taken two wickets in five matches before he got this injury. This injury will severely impact CSK’s bowling attack at a tough time for them.

Injury: Quadriceps strain

Performance before injury: 2 wickets in 5 matches

Impact: A major setback for CSK’s bowling attack during a difficult phase

Brydon Carse (Sunrisers Hyderabad)

Before making his debut with Sunrisers Hyderabad, Brydon Carse sustained a hand injury while practicing in nets before the start of the tournament. He did not play at all this season due to injury (hand injury before the start of season) and was replaced with Dilshan Madushanka .

Injury: Hand injury (pre-season)

Replacement: Dilshan Madushanka

Impact: Missed entire season without making an appearance

David Payne (Sunrisers Hyderabad)

David Payne, originally signed as a replacement, faced another setback with an ankle injury. He had 2 wickets in 2 matches. They have replaced him with Gerald Coetzee, which has further weakened their pace depth.

Injury: Ankle injury

Performance: 2 wickets in 2 matches

Replacement: Gerald Coetzee

Impact: Further weakened SRH’s pace depth

Tom Banton (Gujarat Titans)

Tom Banton (Gujarat Titans) was ruled out of IPL 2026 pre-match due to an injury (finger) and has been replaced by Connor Esterhuizen. The impact will be a dynamic top-order batting option lost.

Injury: Finger injury

Replacement: Connor Esterhuizen

Impact: Loss of a dynamic top-order batting option

Ayush Mhatre (Chennai Super Kings)

CSK suffered one of its harshest setbacks when Ayush Mhatre was put on injured reserve due to a severely strained hamstring.

Injury: Hamstring tear.

Performance: 201 runs (2 half-centuries).

Estimated time away from playing: Entire IPL 2026

Impact: loss of leading run-scorer in CSK during their season.
